About us

The German Society for Public Health and Population Medicine is dedicated to the advancement of science, research, and education in the fields of public health and population medicine.

We aim to achieve this purpose through several key activities:

  • Conducting independent and evidence-based research, ensuring timely publication of findings, and supporting similar research efforts by non-profit organizations or public law entities.
  • Organizing events for the continuous medical education of physicians.
  • Developing scientifically sound, medical standards and guidelines for population-based medicine, health protection and health prevention activities of public health authorities.
  • Promoting publications in the area of public health, particularly those relevant to public health authorities.
  • Hosting regular workshops and congresses for employees of public health authorities, as well as physicians tasked with population medicine, preferably in cooperation with other medical societies.

We are contributing to the development of public health services and support the advancement of public health legislation and public health authorities through practical experience and, in particular, evidence-based recommendations on relevant population health issues.
